Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha
We will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel after breakfast. Thereaftera drive to Naivasha with a stop at the view point of the great rift valley whose view of the valley below is splendidly panoramic. Arrive in time for lunch at he Lake Naivasha country club which is located at the shores of Lake Naivasha. After lunch, visit the Hell’s Gate National Park for a short hike in the scenic gorge where Sheena, the Queen of the Jungle has been filmed. A variety of wildlife such as zebras, baboons, gazelles and ostriches can be found. Occasionally also cheetahs or leopards can be seen. Above the cliffs the rare lammergeyer inhabits the sky. At 5.00 pm you finally drive to Nakuru for dinner and Overnight will be at the Lake Elemantaita Lodge, an old colonial farm house overlooking Lake Elementaita.
Day 2: Lake Naivasha - Nairobi
After an early morning breakfast, you will be picked up at 5.30 am for your balloon flight over the Soysambu Ranch and the Lake Shores of Lake Elementaita. The 1 hour flight conducted by experienced balloon pilots, with breathtaking views of the Great RiftValley, the thousands of flamingoes in the shallow lake Elementaita, and good numbers of plains game is a life time experience. The flight is crowned by a champagne bush breakfast in the vast Soysambu ranch before you continue with your safari to Lake Nakuru National park for game drives . This park was created to protect the large flocks of lesser flamingoes, which turn the lake a vivid pink. The park now protects other endangered species in the woodland and bush grassland, in particular white rhino and the Roth child giraffe. Other plain game including Cape buffalo, zebras, antelopes and wildebeest can be seen. A visit to baboon cliff offers a scenic panorama of the lake below, surrounded by a vast tract of euphorbia and acacia forest. After game drive depart for Nairobi. |
