4 DAYS THE ARK/ MT.KENYA/ SWEETWATERS

Day 1: Nairobi/ the Ark

Leave in the morning to reach the small town of Nyeri for a sumptuous lunch before leaving for the Ark in the early afternoon. The night is spent in your comfortable perch above the floodlit waterhole and salt lick where, nightlong, a procession of animals comes to drink.

Day 2: The Ark/ Mt. Kenya safari club

After breakfast a short drive brings you to the Mount Kenya safari club whose membership includes a host of movie stars and politicians. Here you can have a day of total relaxation in the splendid landscaped surroundings. Activities available include golf, tennis, horse back riding and of swimming in the heated pool. Overnight and all meals at the club.

Day 3: Mt. Kenya/ Sweetwaters

sweetwatersDepart in the morning for the sweetwaters. It is one of the only four private game reserves in Kenya and provides visitors with a unique combination of facilities and activities. Here the guests can enjoy special activities not permitted in the Kenyan National parks and Reserves such as escorted game walks, night game drives, horse back rides and meals in the bush. Dinner and overnight at the Sweetwaters tented camp.

Day 4: Sweetwaters/ Nairobi.

After breakfast, you will have you final morning games drive in this sanctuary returning in time for lunch. After lunch depart for Nairobi arriving in the late afternoon.

ADS-7 DAYS MASAI MARA – LAKE NAKURU – SAMBURU.

masaiDay 1: Nairobi-Masai Mara
We will pick you from your Nairobi hotel after breakfast; thereafter depart for Masai Mara game reserve stopping at the view point of the Great Rift Valley and at Narok town for lunch. Arrive in time for a late afternoon or early evening game drive in this park that is essentially the northern extension of Tanzania’s Serengeti national park as an artificial border separates the two. This park animal concentration is second to none and the big five can be spotted here.  The Mara’s landscape is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills which enables the reserve to attract sufficient rainfall to maintain and support a large population of herbivores, together with the predators that follow. Proceed to the Kichwa Tembo for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Masai Mara

kichwa temboAfter breakfast have a full day of game viewing with a picnic lunch at the Hippo pool where you will have a good opportunity of spotting Hippos and crocodiles basking in the sun at a close distance. Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains game and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya.  This is also where the annual migration of close 800,000 zebras and wild beast takes place between the two parks in early July to September. The animals’ move as a great mass across the savannah in a follow the leader fashion in search for food and water. Return to the luxury tented camp in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Masai Mara
After breakfast, another morning of tracking game with your guide and a lunch break at the campsite or Lodge. In the afternoon there is a choice between a game drive or at extra cost you can have a nature walk escorted by our armed Masai  guides, visit to a local Masai village to see their nomadic lifestyle; the Masai  are famous for their bravery, as they have co-existed with the animals over the years. All meals and overnight at the luxury tented camp.

Day 4:Masai Mara-Nakuru
After breakfast, leave Masai Mara for Nakuru with a stop for lunch enroute, with scenic views of Lake Naivasha and Mt. Longonot, which are in the Great Rift from afar on the main highway. Dinner and overnight at the Crater Lake Camp.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru-Samburu
After breakfast a morning game drive will follow in Lake Nakuru National Park, the abode of various water birds that breed in the lake's salty water including flamingos, white pelicans and marabou stork; white rhino may be seen as well as the rare Rothschild’s giraffe, cape buffalo and other plains game in this park that is 188 square kilometers. Depart for Samburu Game Reserve for dinner and overnight at the lodge via the Thompson Falls, which are named after Joseph Thompson, one of the first European explorers who walked from Mombasa to Lake Victoria in the 1880's. Lunch and game drive enroute.

larsensDay 6: Samburu
Morning and afternoon game-viewing sessions tracking the rare, drought resistant animals species which can only be seen north of the equator; these are: the reticulated giraffe, grevy's zebra, the gerenuk or giraffe-gazelle, Beisa Oryx and the blue shanked Somali ostrich. The Ewaso Nyiro River traverses this park, its source being the Aberdare ranges. There are therefore very high chances of spotting crocodile in a natural environment though its water level varies seasonally. You will have a lunch and leisure break in the mid afternoon. Rest of meals and overnight at the Samburu Larsen's camp.

Day 7: Samburu -Nairobi
After breakfast, depart Samberg for Nairobi, lunch enroute, with scenic views of Mt. Kenya's peak if the weather permits. Very pleasant countryside with ADS and coffee plantations will be by-passed enroute to Nairobi. Arrive in the evening.

10 DAYS AMBOSELI/ LAKE NAKURU/EL KARAMA RANCH/LAKE BARINGO/LAKE NAIVASHA/MASAI MARA

Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli
Early morning breakfast will be followed by departure for Amboseli National park arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, have an afternoon game viewing session with your guide in this park which lies within the shadow of the mighty Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest Mountain. Dinner and overnight at the Tortilis camp.

After breakfast, proceed for a morning game drive where plains game namely zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and various antelopes can be seen including a large herd of Elephant and hippos that are found bathing in the swamp grounds which get their waters from Mt. Kilimanjaro. You will have lunch and leisure break at the Lodge then end with an evening game drive, looking out for the peak of Kilimanjaro which may be seen during clear weather from the observation hill. Return to the Camp in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Amboseli – Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, depart the Amboseli region for Lake Nakuru National park via Nairobi for lunch. You will have a stop at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley whose view of the valley below is splendidly panoramic. On arrival, have an extensive game drive in this park that has a fantastic array of birdlife including flamingoes, white pelicans, the marabou stork and other water birds, that breed in the lake’s alkaline water. Cape buffalo, white Rhino, the Rothschild giraffe and other plain game can be seen. A visit to the baboon cliff offers a scenic panorama of the lake below, surrounded by a vast tract of euphorbia and acacia forest. Dinner and overnight at the Sarova Lion hill.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru - El Karama Ranch
Leave for El-Karama Ranch after breakfast. On arrival, check in and proceed for a game viewing session with your guide to return in time for lunch. In the afternoon spend at leisure and in the evening, embark for a night viewing game drive. Elephant, giraffe and antelopes can be seen in this Ranch.

Day 5: El Karama
After breakfast, have a horse riding session across the valley with an armed guide. Variety of game can be seen enroute. Return to the Ranch for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: El- Karama - Island camp
mbwehaLeave for Lake Baringo one of the largest fresh water lakes in Kenya. On arrival, have a tour of this Lake where more than 350 species of birds have been recorded including some that conform to a migratory pattern, as well as crocodiles and Egyptian gees which migrate all the way from western Europe. Afterwards, you will be met and greet by a representative of island Camp at the main land then transferred to island camp by boat for an afternoon stay, dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Island Camp – Lake Naivasha.
After breakfast, you will be transferred by boat to mainland where you will be met by your driver guide. Thereafter depart for Lake Naivasha to arrive in time for lunch in the Crater Lake tented camp which was the final resting place of lady DianeDelamere. In the afternoon, have a boat ride to the Crescent Island. One of the few places in Africa where you can wander on foot among herds of zebra, wildebeest, gazelle and giraffe, because of the absence of predators. After dinner, have a thrilling night game drive with an expert tracker to return back to the camp in time for a cup of coffee, ADS and overnight.

Day 8: 13/08/06: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara
Depart to the Masai Mara Game Reserve after breakfast to arrive in time for lunch.
